Class of 1963 - Tandy Elementary

The grade school classes in this posting show about 20% of the EHHS Class of 1963 as they matured through the grades at Tandy Elementary. These were some of the kids who had been in school together the longest when we graduated. There was a smaller group that came from Handley, fewer still from Sagamore Hill Elementary, and a similar number from Meadowbrook Elementary.

Mrs. Herring's First Grade 1951 - 1952.

Tandy Elementary is located just west of Meadowbrook Junior High, south of Meadowbrook Drive and dates to the 1920s. The neighborhoods that it served were developed earlier than those east of the Junior High.

In this picture are Kay Humphrey, Susie Wadlington, Gail DeVore, Kitty Koun, and Betty Swanson, along with some other future 1963 Highladners. Can you identify any of them?
